Got up at 7:45 at [personal profile] mashfanficchick's. Showered and dressed, and walked to Starbucks for coffee. Then Ubered over to the eye surgeon.

The surgery was really not bad. They gave me 10 mg of Valium beforehand, and filled my eye with lidocaine, and there were no problems.

Then after it was all over, it was only around 10:30, so instead of waiting in the area we Ubered back to zer place where I slept for two hours.

Then at 3:00 we took the bus back over and got there with enough time to have lunch at the halal restaurant next door.

Finished in time for my appointment, and went back over to the surgeons. Everything looked good, they took off the eye shield though I have to wear it at night for a week. I also have sunglasses I have to wear for a month,

Went back to [personal profile] mashfanficchick's and took another small nap.

Then the Mets game was delayed by rain in Kansas City so I Teamed the FWiB while we waited.

The game was going by the time I finished, and I watched til 11:00 and then Ubered home.

Fed the pets, put in an eye drop, and started here,

Gratitude List:

3. The surgery went well.

PG&E doubled their damn rates. My landlady told me my electric bills should go down once they hook up the solar panels, which I thought they already did. There's supposed to be a bldg meeting about that Thursday, the odd thing is they're having the meeting 2 and a half hours after they normally leave.
I also got a new watch, the band on my old one broke, I was just going to have the band replaced but I found a nice watch in this second hand store that sends its money to cancer patients and they only wanted 5 dollars for it. It probably would have cost a lot more than 5 dollars if I just got a watchband at some other store. Plus, of course I'm all for helping cancer patients.
Looking forward to tonight, I'm going to the East Bay Gay Men's chorus concert!

Yesterday I only worked 5 hours, (12noon-5p), which is quite unusual compared to the 9 hours I usually work.
I grew up in a trailer park out by the local state park. It’s only about a 20 minute drive from where I’m at.
They’re having a community yard sale this weekend. I sent the info to my mom via Facebook & she said she’d go if I wanted to. I might take her up on that.
It’s not exactly a nice place anymore, compared to 30 years ago when we lived there. It’s rather rundown looking these days with a couple arson incidents in the last 12 years.

Book:
”The Lovers”.
Author:
Michael Connelly.
I had read this book some years back & I should’ve never gotten rid of it.  It was one that I really enjoyed.
Recently, I found a couple books from the same author at All Good Things (local secondhand store).
I had a dream one night while reading this book where I was driving to Target & these 2 people were in my back seat.  They were the 2 characters from the book.   They didn’t say a word, but I said, “I don’t know who you are, but I’m taking you back where you belong.”

We were supposed to get rain today, but the rain never came.
I was off work at 3p, then headed over to Walmart for a few things. Ugh.  The needs are fewer than the wants. Such as life.
Tomorrow I work 12noon-5p. Declan’s going with me. I’m not sure how it’s gonna pan out going in at his lunch time, then nap.
I still have these bite mark type marks on my back. I’ve been able to take pictures of them to see how they’re looking. They’re not so much holes now like last week. They’re not really itchy or burning anymore.

Nothing Else Compares.

Fully living in my MOM ERA.
And I’m not sorry about it one bit.

My life revolves around this little family that I created & I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’ll choose them every single time.
Those little faces, their laughter, their love, that’s the best team I’ll ever be a part of.

The moment I became a mother, something primal woke up inside of me.
There is no level of “crazy” I wouldn’t reach.
🔸No law I wouldn’t break.
🔸No soul I wouldn’t haunt if it meant keeping my child safe.
🔸I’d go to war.
🔸I’d burn bridges.
🔸I’d flip tables.
🔸I’d smile in mugshots, if it came to it.

Protecting my child isn’t instinct, it’s a promise.  One I’ll keep until my very last breath.

I was so out of it when I got up this morning that I turned on the wrong stove burner when I was trying to make tea and I got a bunch of smoke in my apt. that stupid smoke alarm goes off if I just turn the stove on to do anything more complicated than make tea or if I turn the oven on at all unless I open the window and turn the stove fan and box fan on full blast (and, yes, I cleaned the oven). It's a pain because I love to watch TV or listen to music when I cook and I can't do that anymore because the fans are very loud and I can't hear the TV or music at all well when they're on.
I think deviled eggs go great with barbecue ribs so I hard boiled some eggies and put them in the fridge and I will devil them later.

Serenity in Simplicity.

I’m at a point in my life where I promise you I won’t deal with anything I don’t want to.
🔸I’m leaving;
🔸I’m unfriending;
🔸I’m unfollowing;

Doing anything I gotta do to not deal with people & situations where I’m not respected or valued.

I got up at 10:30ish and had breakfast and coffee, then showered and dressed, and headed over to [personal profile] mashfanficchick's place.

I got there by 1:00, and the movers texted at a bit after that they would arrive by 2:30. So a bit before 2:00 we Ubered over.

The movers got there, and they moved everything into the storage unit. There was much more room left than I expected, truthfully I am puzzled. But that's OK. It is done.

So [personal profile] mashfanficchick and I took the bus to the subway and then ate at Chipotle which was very good. Then we took the subway back to zer apartment and settled in.

I skipped my D&D game, which was cancelled anyway, so that's OK.

We watched five I think, episodes of The Lincoln Lawyer. Then I Ubered home.

Now it's time for bed.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB, didn't Team but emailed.

2. Oldest Brother's stuff is moved.

3. [personal profile] mashfanficchick

4. The Kid thinks she did good on her job interview today.

5. Good TV.

6. Fresh cherries.

Please don’t ever defend your own character to someone who doubts you.
You know who you are.
Don’t explain yourself to toxic people who try to make the poison spill from your direction.
🔸Just walk away.
🔸No explanations.
🔸No apologies.

Just go & don’t look back.

The day was bright, as though it was making an effort to be cheerful. When Sanne stepped out, she felt an unreasonable pressure to match its mood. She stepped in the centres of the cobblestones in the sidewalk, avoiding the edges and cracks, a spell she had been doing since she was a child. Sometimes it was a spell for calmness and focus. And sometimes it was a spell for avoiding fissures in time.

Now it was a spell for putting one foot in front of the other, because she hadn’t wanted to leave the house today. She'd wanted to stay in bed all day, which wasn’t good for magical hygiene, stagnating in your own energy.

There was a flower growing out of a crack in the sidewalk. Sanne paused and went around it because it seemed to rude to step over it. She rummaged in her bag, took out a vial, uncorked it, and brushed a tiny bit of pollen into it. She stoppered the vial and continued.

She’d embarked on this walk to make herself feel better, but she had a new destination now. She walked until the Materialry. The Keeper of Materials smiled at her as she came in, which made the walk worth it.

My whole mindset has changed.
I don’t have the energy to do certain things or be around certain people anymore.
I’m at a point in my life now where if something feels like it’s draining my energy or fighting with my peace of mind, I’m simply not doing it.  At all.
I will walk away from that shit in a heartbeat.

stardust_1161: (Default)

I’m a leaver.
I will literally walk away from anything that isn’t for me.
🔸I will walk away from anything that doesn’t bring me peace.
🔸I will leave a nonsense conversation mid sentence.
🔸I will walk away from plans that don’t involve me.
🔸I will unfollow someone who drains my energy.

If it doesn’t feel right, I’ll disappear in no time.
No explanations, no dragging it out. My peace & comfort are nonnegotiable.
